Sunlight...Where are you? ✨

For us Food Photographers, capturing our images using natural Sunlight can be very TRICKY. Especially if you live in a city where most days the sun is hiding behind clouds (* cough San Francisco) but those days when the sunlight wants to shine bright...it can be very REWARDING.

"Find out the best times in your city for sunlight. You won't regret it."

Take for instance the image I shot below. If I am going to use sunlight for a shoot, I tend wake early in the morning or wait until around 1pm-4pm (PST times). Those times may be different in your city or wherever you're located because the Earth rotates which will move your key light aka the Sun.

To get the max amount of sunlight in a scene, I also will use a white card to bounce those rays back into my main subject or the entire scene. It will give the scene soft light and that airy feel to it...which I LOVE!! Finding out the best times for sunlight in your city will help you capture the best image for you and trust me, you won't regret it!

See you next time!
